In a world that occasionally feels slightly bonkers – where things that used to be reliable change for no apparent reason, and perfectly good products are endlessly “improved” until they aren’t—there is something deeply reassuring about discovering that one thing remains exactly as it should be. Mrs Darlington’s Mint Sauce is that thing.
Quite simply, it’s perfection in a jar. The balance is exactly right: bright, fresh mint, a proper tang, and none of the syrupy sweetness or dullness that plagues so many others. It tastes the way mint sauce should taste—sharp, vibrant, and utterly transformative when it meets roast lamb. The texture is spot-on as well, with real presence rather than a watery afterthought.
There’s something wonderfully comforting about a product that doesn’t try to reinvent itself. Mrs Darlington’s have clearly got it right, and the only sensible response is: never, ever change it.
One small serving suggestion that elevates it even further: when you’ve spooned it into the dish, add a small splash of boiling water and give it a stir. It releases the aroma beautifully and brings the sauce to life.
In a slightly chaotic world, it’s nice to know that some things are still genuinely, consistently fantastic. Mrs Darlington’s Mint Sauce is one of them.

Once you have tried this mint sauce, I guarantee that you will never ever buy any other named mint sauce again.
